During the late sixties, Tsui Kam Fat, a barber, lives in con?tentment though he is poor. However, his wife, Mei Wah, cannot bear the poverty and always complaints about her husband. Thus, there are a lot of quarrels between the couple. Having no other way out, Kam Fat pays all his attention on his only child, Ka Ki. Therefore, the father-son relationship is very good and intimate. Mei Wah is wild and aggressive, she eventually commits adultery with the dispensary salesman, Tsang Chung Ching. Chung Ching is attracted by her beauty and persuades her to elope with him.
