Abey Lin
Featured by networks such as Bloomberg, Adobe, Dolby, NPR, FOX, and more, Abey Lin is an ever-growing presence as a sincerely multidisciplinary artist. Through film directing, writing, acting, and cinematography, his self-developed systems in the visual mediums come together to lay the groundwork for his uniquely defining discography and filmography. Hidden within the dreamy soundscapes and genre-bending double takes lie curated characters, camouflaged clues, and almost puzzle-like narratives—constants always present within Abey Lin’s distinct storytelling style, with no exception musically. Growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area, spending every childhood summer in Beijing and Hong Kong, and as a fourth-generation Asian-American, Abey Lin has always embraced his multicultural identity. His instinctual understanding of cross-cultural communication and pursuit of truly international art has led him on a mission to connect the world through the universal language of music, film, and interactive media. Abey Lin graduated from one of Asia’s top film institutions, the Beijing Film Academy, where he studied Film Directing and Production and further developed his creative voice and artistic understanding. His film Catching Love (2020) sought international acclaim during the pandemic, speaking about coming together in the face of discrimination and standing as a pillar for Asian American activism. After being televised nationally in the United States, it began to be used in many school districts' curricula and has been supported by academic institutions like New York University. Currently, he is developing his first feature film in New York, with multiple proof-of-concepts and shorts receiving international attention, including The Not So Flightless, Flightless Bird (2024) and Insight (2024)—both written, directed, acted in, edited, and produced by Abey Lin. Now, Abey Lin finds himself between New York City and San Francisco, residing in the bustling streets of the East Village or the quiet forests of Northern California—a contrast that fits his work. In New York City, he teams up with his closest co-collaborator, fellow filmmaker, musician, and sister, Sabrina “Nani” Lin. Nani Lin graduated from New York University Tisch School of the Arts, studying Screenwriting in the historical Department of Dramatic Writing. Together, Abey and Nani have formed an all-encompassing sibling duo with co-directorial debuts in narrative films, short documentaries, and in-development features. Additionally, in music, they can be seen performing live concerts around Manhattan, curating self-produced albums, and creating independent music videos for their original music. Most recently, the sibling duo came together to create their first debut music video for Abey Lin’s fifth song on the Savior (2025) album, “Parallax”. Abey Lin is also the President and Founder of the international production house OKAY Enterprises, with Vice President Sabrina “Nani” Lin, defining itself through cross-media projects in film, music, and interactive media. Additionally, under OKAY Enterprises, he continues his artistic ventures through fashion design—with his first-ever couture releases set to debut in New York City.
